Recap: Recent Organic Food Recalls

There have been a number of recalls recently, with two major outbreaks of listeria–one in sunflower seeds and one in frozen vegetables. There also happen to be some issues with salmonella in organic products that have popped up. Many conventional/natural foods have been affected, but we’ve compiled a handy list here of the organic products that have been affected in the last 30 days.

Frontier Co-op is recalling its organic Hojicha Tea due to potential salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date. See details

Simple Truth organic mixed vegetables have been recalled in connection with the nation-wide listeria contamination concern. See affected products here.

Label, Mixed Vegetables

Natural Directions is recalling its frozen mixed vegetables and peas due to potential listeria contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date; see details for affected lot numbers.

Front Label, Mixed Vegetables

Animoto Windsor has recalled a number of products, including VIP Steamworks Organic peas, corn, and mixed vegetables, in association with the nation-wide listeria contamination concern. See the recall for full details.

 

 

Twin City Foods is recalling several products in connection with the potential for listeria contamination. Affected brands include: Central Market Organics green peas and mixed vegetables.

Woodstock Organic mixed vegetables

Watt’s Brothers Farms Organic mixed vegetables, sweet corn, and organic peas have been recalled for potential listeria contamination. See the recall here.

Trader Joe’s super sweet cut corn has been recalled in relation to the national listeria contamination concern. See the details here.

 

 

 

 

Harris Teeter frozen organic corn and mixed vegetables has been recalled in association with the nation-wide listeria contamination concern. See the recall notice and affected products here.

Bybee Foods organic frozen broccoli, green beans, white corn, sweet baby peas, mixed vegetables, chopped kale, sweet potatoes, chopped onions have been recalled in association with potential listeria contamination. See the affected products here.

Raw Organic Meal

This popular organic protein shake has undergone an FDA investigation over the last several months for salmonella contamination. See the affected lot numbers here.

Republic of Tea organic turmeric ginger green tea has been recalled for potential salmonella contamination. See details here.
